Soda Lake Policies Regarding Weather and Cancelling Reservations

Please read the following information regarding cancellations prior to making any reservations in order to avoid being charged.

Once a reservation is made, customers are expected to use their reserved time slots. All cancellations must be made with appropriate notice or the skier will be charged for all reserved times.

All sets reserved under one hour in length require four working-hours notice in order to avoid being charged for the sets. Example: A skier reserving a twenty-minute set for a 10am Friday time will need to call by 3:30pm Thursday in order to cancel without being charged. Check our hours of operation above to determine your cancellation times (consider regular season closing hours to be 7:30pm). Skiers who have made more than one reservation on a given day are responsible to pay for all reserved sets. If they wish to cancel with less than four working hours notice, they may attempt to "sell" their set to another customer to avoid a charge, otherwise they will be held responsible for their sets.

Reservations 1-2 hours in length require 24 working hours notice in order to avoid a charge since there are more spots to fill once the cancellation is made.

Reservations longer than two hours all require a 50% down payment and a 48 hour cancellation notice.

Regarding weather, skiers are responsible to call the school in the event that the weather is questionable. If the weather causes the ski school to close, our message machine will pick up and inform customers we have closed for the day. Customers should always call prior to coming out if the skies are threatening.

If the weather is questionable, the Soda Lake Staff members working that shift will determine if the conditions are unsafe or unskiable. If the staff members feel like the conditions would endanger the customers or the staff, the ski school will be put on a weather delay for up to twenty minutes. If the weather continues past the twenty-minute delay, those skiers in that time frame will be permitted to reschedule their sets without charge. If the staff determines that the conditions are skiable and the weather is no longer a threat, then the customers will be responsible for their sets.

Please be sure to call the school if the weather is questionable. Many times customers are in locations where the weather is threatening, but the weather at the ski school is calm. Failure to show due to poor weather at a different location will result in a charge.

If you have questions or need clarification regarding our policies, please feel free to contact the ski school prior to making any reservations.
